NAHB Green - National Green Building Program
In a world where everything seems to be "going green" what does it mean to build green? Building green means incorporating environmental considerations and resource efficiency into every step of the home building process to minimize environmental impact.
The National Green Building Certification was created to assure homeowners and the community that projects are truly green and meet the requirements of the NAHB Model Green Home Building Guidelines. There are extensive guidelines and steps for certifying a green building or project, and an accredited NAHB Green Verifier can help with the process.
Larry Hunter, senior marketing representative for ESP, recently earned the designation as a Green Verifier from the NAHB and is able to help designers and builders take the necessary steps to achieve 'green' status. The verification program is offered at no charge to new homebuilders in Escambia County whose plans incorporate natural gas.
